Fireside Convalescent Hospital is a 66-bed short-term rehabilitation facility located in Santa Monica, California.  We are accepting applications for the position of Director of Nursing Services.  The ideal candidate must have 2 years of previous experience in the skilled nursing setting as a Director of Nursing Services.

We are looking for an experienced Director of Nursing Services with a proven track record of success.  The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with excellent clinical skills and a "hands on" approach to teaching and leadership skills.  Communication skills are vital to the success of this position.  We are looking for a leader who is compassionate and intelligent, who enjoys working with short-term rehabilitation patients and leading a team of skilled professionals.

The Director of Nursing Services will plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with current federal, state and local guidelines.

Fireside Convalescent Hospital is a sophisticated higher acuity skilled nursing facility with an emphasis on serving post surgical, post operative patients who have had extensive care in the acute care hospital and are now in need of sophisticated skilled nursing care in the SNF setting.  Our facility has a special emphasis on serving orthopedic patients and other post-surgical patients who are recovering from a planned surgery, or unplanned surgery, and plan to return home (or to a lower level of care such as assisted living or board and care facility) as soon as possible.  Many of our patient’s average length of stay are approximately two to four weeks.  Some skilled residents only stay a few days, while others do stay for up to three months.  Additionally, our client facilities have long-term care populations and those patients have extensive needs that we participate in serving as well.

Requirements:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, must be a Registered Nurse in the state of CA and obviously have a current license that can be verified through state and federal board review. 2 years experience as a Director of Nursing Services.
